2009 is Over

Well, 2009 ended.  It is hard to believe how quickly the time goes by.  Here are a few things at the end of the year.

My cute carolers that are on our front porch during Christmas!

New Year's Eve was spent at Eric and Tina's.  Sarah and Melinda were there, Glen, Emily and family, and also Holly, Kent and Family.  Allison, Sarah's friend, also joined us. We had a fun time playing games, doing puzzles, watching TV, and eating! of course.

2010 is almost there!!

A fun thing we have started doing for the past couple of years is, right at midnight, everyone jumps on the large bubble wrap.  It sounds  like firecrackers are going off.  And, it is easy to clean up.

Holly was up on a stool taking pictures of everyone jumping around.

Our London puzzel that we did.

Since I had forgotten the serpentine the night before, and since we always have had some and then left it to wake up to, Sarah put some around so that when we woke up it looked like "New Year's Day" -- kind of a tradition for us.

Well, this ends the Holidays for 2009

This is the last puzzle we've worked on.  It is New York City and it is one of the hardest we have done.  Pretty neat, since we have been there.

100th Birthday Celebration

Waldo O Huber would have been 100 years old in 2009, so we thought it would be nice to get together with Paul's siblings and spouses.  We went to the Circle Bar B Ranch near Santa Barbara CA.  We had a great time visiting, looking at old pictures, seeing the sights, etc etc.

While we were there we visited Solvang and enjoyed seeing the sights there.

On Sunday we went to Church with Paul's cousin, Elaine Honey who lives in Santa Barbara

There were quite a few orchard along the road as we drove back to the ranch.  We didn't know what they were at first but figured out they were avocado trees.

We had a great van that we all could fit in as we drove around the country.  It was fun to be together.

Before we got to Santa Barbara and the Circle Bar B Ranch, Paul and I stopped in Simi Valley and went to the Ronald Reagan Presidental Library.  It is in a beautiful place, high on the hills and was so impressive.

Where Reagan is burried

We were able to see a part of the Berlin Wall

Air Force One is impressively on display and we were able to walk through it!

One of the many things we saw was a replica of the Oval Office when President Reagan was there.

More fun in 2009

We had a fun summer with all of our family gathering at Aspen Grove Family Camp up Provo canyon for a week in July.  Grandma Andersen sponsored her whole family (that's almost 150 of us) for a family reunion.  My mother has been wonderful in doing things to bring family together throughout the years.  This will probably be our last big reunion and we all loved it and sure appreciate my mother.

We had lots of fun together!

2009 Continued

Our trip continued to Izmir, Turkey where we visited the site of the ancient city of Ephesus that is being excavated .

From Turkey, we went on to Greece where we visited Athens and saw the Acropolis.  We walked through the town, ate at a cafe, and shopped in the little shops.

We departed Athens and sailed north along the Adriatic Sea to Dubrovnik, Croatia!  It was a very beautiful walled city.

After leaving Croatia, we headed to Venice (Venentia), Italy.  It was pretty awesome to ride the gondolas through the canals of Venice.  It was fun to watch "The Italian Job" after we got home and see some places where we had been.

We flew home from Venice through Paris and then on to Salt Lake City.  It was a wonderful trip!!
