August Surprise

August brought the culmination of a lot of planning.  For months all the kids had been planning to have a surprise party for Paul for his 70th birthday.  I told them that where we live it wasn't a big deal to turn 70, but they still wanted to do it.
Holly created the invitation and then started getting the word out.
It was hard to not say anything and I wondered several times if it would all end up being a surprise.  But, it did!  It was a total surprise for Paul.
The plan was that we were invited to breakfast at Eric's home Saturday morning the 7th of August since they were going to be out of town on Paul's birthday on the 9th.  Carrie and Matt were here since they were in the process of moving to Salt Lake.  Sarah lives close and Glen and Emily were also invited.  So we planned to arrive around 10:00am.  As we walked in, ALL the grandchildren had on party hats and were blowing horns and yelling "Surprise!" along with all of our kids and spouses.
This was kids while waiting for us to arrive:

As we walked in this is what Paul saw!
After a few minutes Loralee, Carol, Mary, Sheryl, Karen, Doyle, Cheri, and Steve walked out!! It was so fun to have them come!

We had a wonderful breakfast at Eric's then in the afternoon we had a great lunch/dinner at our club house that they brought food from Meiers Catering.  We had lots of food for everyone!!
After dinner we had some family pictures taken.  Then an open house in the evening for anyone that wanted to come!  As we get more pictures, I'll add them to this.
